Miracle Romance - A Sailor Moon Cosmetic Line!

I've talked about how much I love geeky make-up and nail polish many a time, but I'm not sure I've ever wanted any of them as much as I want this line.

I've always been a huge Sailor Moon fan and I love collecting anything Sailor Moon that I can get my hands on.  And right now, I'm wishing I knew someone in Japan....

Introducing Miracle Romance by Premium Bandai

Yes, with the 20th Anniversary of Sailor Moon and the re-release (hopefully) happening this year, Japan is getting their very own make-up line, featuring eyeliners, lip stick (balm?), powder and nail polish

Eyeliner

The eyeliner comes in two different types, liquid and pencil.
The liquid eyeliner is a felt tip applicator (which I love) and features Sailor Moon on the packing, available in both black and brown (above)
The eyeliner pencils come in Sailor Moon, a shimmering white, Sailor Mercury, a navy blue, and Sailor Mars, in burgundy (below)
There is no word yet if they will add Jupiter and Venus to the line, but I hope they do.

Lip Stick (Balm)

The Sailor Moon lip balm in the shape of her first wand is fantastic!
It's blended with evening primrose oil, collagen, jojoba oil and vitamin E. Apparently, it tastes like peach! I really, really want one! Not only do I have a lip balm addiction, but how cool would it be to carry this palm sized wand around in your pocket or purse?

Face Powder

How amazing is this Sailor Moon R locket face powder? The lockets that they've made over the years have always been toys and made out of cheap plastic and have looked pretty crappy. Here is the chance to own a really nice one and to make it functional as well!

Nail Polish

I find myself torn about the nail polish line. I really, really, really like the packaging, but the nail polish it's self doesn't really look all that impressive. Since I'm a huge nail polish user, I'm not sure if I would use them and then refill them with better polish or whether I would end up just keeping them on display.

I do love it though, it reminds me of them transforming

Man, I wish it were that easy to paint my nails.

Or, I could always buy the nail stickers instead.

I like the bottom row the best!

This amazing line of cosmetics drops in December, but has already sold out in pre-sales, in an exclusive Japanese market.
sigh... Oh well, guess I'll just have to start checking ebay for them then.

Thanks to Aramatheydidn't!, Sailor Moon Collectables, Fa Fo Fi, PiuPiuPenguin, and Swatchgirl for the awesome info

Braeby - You're Very Own Her Universe Fangirl!!!

Do you remember awhile back, I posted about Year of the Fangirl over at Her Universe?

Well guess what? I was yesterday's Fangirl!!!! How awesome is that?

11138_173667911602_502711602_3466423_6718954_n copy

Name of the Fangirl: Brae

What is her fangirl interest?
I love Star Wars, Sailor Moon, Batman, BSG, Final Fantasy, The Muppets, Final Fantasy, Stargate, Barbie, cosplaying… the list goes on and on…

Why did you decide to shine the spotlight on this fangirl?
For a long time I didn’t know any other geeky girls. I knew that there had to be more out there, but was having a hard time finding them, even on the Internet. So I decided to start my own blog about what it was like to be a geek girl and to showcase things that I loved that were actually aimed being at that demographic. It seemed a little bleak at first, but the more I blogged, the more of a community I found. There were other girls like me! I think it’s so important for women like us to know that there are a lot more of us out there than we think and that we are accepted as we are. That makes me so happy and so proud to be a geek girl.

How does this fangirl express her fandom?
I love to write, both on my blogs and novels. I’m currently working on my forth novel, which is a romantic comedy about a geek girl, not only finding love, but finding herself as well.
I love to bake geeky and non-geeky treats. I love the look on people’s faces when they take a bite out of something sweet.
Sewing is a newer passion of mine. I’ve started to make my own geek clothes and bags.

What is her favorite quote or personal motto?
Talk Star Wars to me!

What is her favorite fangirl item that she cannot live without?
My Batman earrings and geeky socks. My feet are small enough that I can wear kid socks. I love that I can get away with having a bit of geekdom on me in my business causal dress office.

Where can we follow her online?

And 2 days before my Birthday! Talk about awesome Birthday present!!

Star Wars Reads Day II - October 5th 2013

Fans of reading and a certain galaxy far, far away have reason to rejoice: Star Wars Reads Day, a day-long celebration of literacy and Jedi, Sith, Wookiees, and all things Star Wars, is returning. The second annual Star Wars Reads Day is to be held this October 5, 2013, and will again feature Star Wars fans, authors, and artists coming together in a nationwide multi-publisher initiative. Participating publishing partners include Abrams, Chronicle Books, Dark Horse, Del Rey, DK, Quirk Books, Random House Audio, Scholastic, Titan Magazines, and Workman. Last year, 30 authors and 1,500 costumed volunteers participated in over 1,200 Star Wars Reads Day events across North America.
"Star Wars Reads Day is the kind of initiative that we at Lucasfilm love to support" says Carol Roeder, Director of Publishing at Lucasfilm. "Reading and Star Wars have gone hand-in-hand since 1976, when the novelization of the original Star Wars movie was released. Over the years, many fans have discovered the joy in reading through Star Wars books, and we hope to continue encouraging more people to read." -  Starwars.com

I'm a huge fan of reading and of Star Wars, and, of course, Star Wars reading!
In my own collection of books, I probably have over 40 SW books, and I'm only about half way through them. I picked up most of them at second hand stores over the years as I've come across them and I like to break one out when life is getting a little too serious.
Reading about a galaxy far, far away always helps me to unwind.

I think this event is an amazing way to connect with other like-minded people who also share a love for SW or even just for reading. I really wish that I wasn't out of town this weekend, or I would've headed over to Chapters Bayview Village and joined in the fun!

But, since I'm not, nor anywhere near these other places that are,  I will just give you the low down of some of the awesome Star Wars books that I've been looking at recently.

My friends Josh and Sarah got me Vader and Son last year for my birthday and I love it! It's all about the softer side of Darth Vader and what he would've been like had he raised Luke. Vader's Little Princess came out earlier this year and follows in the same vain.
These book are adorable and I recommend them for the SW lover of any age.

How can you go wrong with a pop-up book? Add Star Wars to the mix and you have me occupied for hours.

Not only does this book have awesome pop-ups, but it's also filled with great info on all sorts of SW trivia.

Along the lines of Novels, this is the one I have on the go at the moment.

I love the Tales series of short stories that cover the entire EU. I've got Empire, New Republic, Bounty Hunter and Mos Eisley Cantina. They're really great for when you don't want to commit to an entire book.

But when you do want to commit, I suggest picking up a series or a trilogy. The Thrawn Trilogy, perhaps?

Myself, I'm in the middle of the Darth Bane Trilogy.

I've read the first two, now I just have to pick up the last one. I can't wait to see how it ends!

If you can get out to one of these events this weekend, have fun. If not, keep on reading on.
