More Geek Girl Music

I seem to be on a bit of a geek music kick, these last few days. Whether it's listening to The Green Album or Video Game Rap, it puts me in the best kind of geeky mood.
It reminded me that I had written another post back in February about geek girls and their music. When I went back to check it out and have a listen, I found links to other music that they both had made, and of course, dear readers, I wanted to share it with you.

Ami Lee Radigan, singer and writer of Nerdy Girls Need Love Too ponders what might be going through a Princess' head while she waits for her Plumber to rescue her in Save Me Mario

But don't wait too long Mario; what happens in Bowser's castle doesn't always stay in Bowser's castle!

Amy Lee also believes that Data from TNG is her Dream Man

Although, I do think that a Geordie and Data 3-way could be pretty hot, I'm not sure how Data would compute that.

Do you remember Meekakitty from Star Trek Girl and Navi's Song is back along with Heyhihello in this awesome Harry Potter themed Wizard Love

Can love truly exist between a Gryffindor and a Slytherin? Hey, why not?

So have you heard any good geek music lately? Or are you content with having these songs stuck in your head for awhile. Let me know. I could always use another good earworm.

Video Game Raps

I've featured geeky raps on here before, but these ones by hiimrawn are just crazy! The costumes are great, they lyrics are surprisingly clever and I can't seem to get them out of my head.

Here is "I'm Questing,"my personal favorite. The cameos by Navi and Sheik are my favorites. This Navi puts that other one to shame!

Next is the "Pokemon Gangster Rap" with awesome cameos by Misty and Brock. I also really like the Pikachu Robe for some odd reason.

Lastly, here is "Do The Mario" I love Luigi, Toad and Yoshi in this. It puts Mario in a whole new light.

Thanks to Geekologie for his love of crazy, geek rap!

Michael - Long Live Play PS3 Commercial

I'm sure you've probably all seen this already, but I could help but post about it.
It's not often that I watch TV; I don't have cable or satellite or anything like that, so all the shows I watch have been previously downloaded or bought on DVD. On the rare occasion I do watch TV, I find myself bogged down in all the commercials and useless reality shows, but every once and a while, a gem emerges and gives me hope. This commercial was such the case.

While watching the soundless TV in a bar for a moment while waiting for my hot wings and beer (yes, I'm that kind of girl) I saw this commercial and immediately recognized a bunch of characters. Not knowing what it was about made it very hard for me to google later when I got home. It wasn't until today when catching up on my Geekologie, that I came across it again!

I'm not much of a gamer. I do have games that I play and love, but I didn't, by all means, know who everyone in the video was, and had to look it up.

Soldiers (Socom) -they start off.
Ghost (MW2) -walks by door.
Nathan Drake (Uncharted) -talking at bar.
Lightning (FFXIII) -listening to Drake.
Cole (InFamous) -talking to a bearded man.
Isaac Clarke (Dead Space) -leaning on the table.
Agent 47 (Hitman) - Sitting at that table w/ Ghost.
Snake (Metal Gear) -talking in the corner.
Sweet Tooth (Twisted Metal) -playing chess.
Chell (Portal) -in the background.
Sackboy (Little Big Planet) -playing chess.
Athena (God of War) -talking.
Kratos (God of War) -next to Athena.
Paul Pheonix (Tekken) -behind Athena.
Little Sister (Bioshock) -listening to the Socom marine.
Ezio (Assassin's Creed) -templars murdered his family.
Rico (Killzone) -right after Ghost.
Chimera (Resistance) -it went rawr.
Michael (You) -at the end.

 Thanks Linkenberger

My favorite part of the whole commercial is the beginning when they show a close up of all the different currencies.
Another cool thing about this commercial is that the character "Michael" is actually a real person, as are all the photos of the people on the ceiling.

Apparently, at some point, they asked people to send in pictures of themselves holding their controllers. Well, these are those pictures. Who knows, you might be in this commercial or featured in another commercial like this in the future!

How cool is that?

Bounty Hunter II - Pit Of Carkoon

How many Bounty Hunters does it take to knock a Jedi and a Scoundrel into the Pit Of Carkoon?
Apparently not enough?

This is the second video in the Bounty Hunter Series. I posted the first one here last year and hadn't seen the new one until now.

It always reminds me  of Topless Robots #3 reason why Luke Skywalker is a complete idiot

3) His Insanely Stupid Plan To Rescue Han Solo from Jabba The Hutt
Let us imagine that Luke Skywalker is trying to tell you his plan to rescue Han Solo from Jabba the Hutt.
Luke: "Okay so, first we get Lando Calrissian posing as a guard inside Jabba's Palace."
You: "How do we do that?"
Luke: "We just get him a costume and he--just walks in."
You: "Um, okay, say it's that easy. So then Lando gets Han out of the carbonite and we pick them up and get away?"
Luke: "No. What happens next is that I put my lightsaber in a hidden compartment in R2-D2 and send R2-D2 and C3PO to Jabba the Hutt as gifts."
You: "Wait, why-"
Luke: "Just listen. Next we have Leia pose as a bounty hunter arriving at Jabba's palace with Chewbacca captured. She's going to hand over Chewbacca to Jabba."
You: "Wait, why? Wouldn't that mean we would now have to rescue Han Solo, Chewbacca, R2-D2 and C3PO? That just makes it more difficult, right?"
Luke: "Just go with me here. Next, Leia is going to sneak around at night and get Han Solo out of the carbonite, but get captured."
You: "What? Why would we get everyone captured like that?"
Luke: "Now I'll show up, use my Force powers to get in to Jabba's fortress, get past the guards to an audience before Jabba and then use my Jedi mind trick to get Jabba to release everyone. If that doesn't work, then I'll get captured."
You: "Okay, if you can just use your Force powers to get in to the palace and all the way to Jabba, then let's just have you go in right now and get Han out."
Luke: "No, that's stupid. I'm going to get myself captured. Because then you see, we'll be taken to the sarlacc pit and then, when we're on the skiff, I'll get sent out first and then R2-D2 will manage to get to the top of Jabba's sail barge and shoot out my lightsaber, and then with Lando's help, we'll just--rescue everyone and then everything will be fine!"
You: "That is the stupidest plan I've ever heard of."
Luke:"I've thought of everything."
You: "Clearly you didn't."

Oh, poor Luke! I know you're still new to being a Jedi... but, really? Really?

Thanks to DBSW for this great video

Slave Leia PSA

I probably should have posted this before Halloween, but I didn't get around to it. Plus, with the convention season about 6 months away, now is the perfect time to start thinking about costumes for your next con. Perhaps you were thinking about just pulling out that Slave Leia costume you've worn the last few years.... well think again...

We've all been there. You want to look sexy on Halloween or for a con and what better way to do it than to dress like Slave Leia?
Hell, even I've done it.

But Kaley Cuoco is right. It's getting out of hand. There are so many other costumes that are geeky and sexy. There are even costumes that are geeky and shouldn't be sexy, but they are sexy anyway.
Be smart, be safe and when in doubt choose another Princess Leia costume :P

Captain Planet Wants You To Be Green... Or Else...

Captain Planet, he's our hero,
Gonna take pollution down to zero,
He's our powers magnified,
And he's fighting on the planet side
That's right, the planet's side... not humans

Oh, Don Cheadle... You make the best Captain Planet ever! If you had played Captain Planet when I was younger, I would've been a life long fan

Thanks to Fashionably Geek for making me want to be more green.

Cake Wrecks! A Wrecktacular Time!

Who here has heard of Cake Wrecks? Of course you have. Who hasn't heard of this awesome website, which has spurred books and calendars alike.

Now have you heard of Epbot?

Jen Yates, the writer of Cake Wrecks, also writes Epbot, and Epbot happens to be one of my all time favorite Blogs.
Well, it turns out that The Cake Wrecks - The "Winter Underlined" Tour came to Toronto last night.
I didn't know how busy it was going to be there and I really didn't want to have to stand, so I headed over early. I got there an hour before it started and there was hardly anyone there. I sat in the second row with no one in front of me.
That's when I noticed Jen, or should I say, that's when Jen noticed me. I smiled and she came right over and sat down next to me, saying that I seemed friendly.

Her and I chatted for over an hour while we waited for the show to start. It was so nice to sit and chat with another geek girl. I meet so few of them. She told me that I should move down to Orlando so her and I can hang out and go to Disney World! Man, would I love that!

The show, like Jen and John themselves, was very funny! They both have very quick wit and you can see why they're so well suited to one another.

Isn't she cute in her Give Me The Candy shirt? She had asked fans on Twitter to bring her some leftover Canadian candy, so a few people did. I popped out after the show and grabbed them some Kinder Surprise. Did you know that they don't sell them in the States anymore? Apparently, kids kept choking on the toys inside.

As always, there was a competition to see who could recreate their favorite wreck. They all looked so wrecktastic!

They also served cake! One was of a baby and the other of a carrot. I was lucky enough to get the baby's mouth? Don't worry, I took a bite out of him before he could take a bite out of me!

A fan even brought John a tiger scarf/hood! Here he is, doing his best to be presidential!

And of course, my signed book! If you can't make out what it says:
To "Brae"
Under Neat That
Move to Olrando! Now!!!
Then she drew me a "hidden Mickey"

How awesome is that? I had such a wonderful time and I can't believe I actually got to hang out with Jen, Herself!!! YAY!!!

It's My Blog's Birthday!

Happy 2nd Birthday To Talk Star Wars To Me!
I know I haven't blogged much this year, but I will make sure that there will be lots more to come this year! Thanks to all who read my posts and all that comment! I love you all!

Green Halloween

It's not that easy being green....
Well, actually, it's pretty easy

I mentioned in the previous post that I wanted to be a Muppet for Halloween, specifically Kermit. After much searching, I came across a turtleneck dress from American Apparel,  a green hat from Ardene, a Miss Piggy and Kermit from HMV, and a couple of ping pong balls.
I used an old shirt I had to make the fringe and sewed it onto some invisible stretching thread.

I cut the ping pong balls in half and glued them them to the top of the hat and added the pupils with a permanent marker.

I carried Piggy with me when I went out to Church Street for the annual Halloween walk-about.
And as usual, there were some great costumes. Not as many as some years, but the ones that I did see made me smile.

These cute Sailor Scouts all had hand made costumes. For authenticity sake, I wish they had done a bit more with their hair and wore better shoes/boots, but the fact that they managed to get everyone to do it and had costumes made for each, means that I will let this slide.

I love White and Black Mages! Sooo cute!

Jem and Pizzazz were awesome! Even better, when I asked for a picture I realized that I knew Pizzazz! He's an old friend of mine!

This cute little grim reaper was the son of one of the girls who was out with us. I think he looks like a Sith Jawa... just me?

Mr. Fantastic was just that.... Fantastic...
He and I locked eyes and stuttered, grinned and blushed at each other while asking if we could take each other's picture. It was one of those moments where you wish you were single...
but then I remember that I have my own Superman waiting for me at home.

There were lots of great Mario Cart costumes out that night. Mario and Luigi must have taken a wrong turn at Bowser's castle, because they were way behind the rest of the group.

It's time to meet the Muppets on the Muppet show tonight! It seems that whenever I choose a costume, I always run into 2 or 3 other people dressed as the same thing. This year was no exception. I guess I'm not the only one excited about the new Muppet movie coming out next month. At one point I ran into another Animal who latched onto me yelling "FROG! FROG! FROG!"
It was pretty awesome.

This was the group of friends that I went out with. They grouped together and dressed up as characters from Clue.

I suspect Professor Plum, with the knife, on Church Street.
(isn't Eric cute with his little plastic knife?)

Lets-a-go!
I guess Church Street is sort of like Rainbow Road considering there are rainbows on all the street signs.

Lakitu!! Yes, that's the cloud sitting, spiney red thing dropping, race starting turtle from Mario.

I bet no one is as hungry as these hippos are! This couple was so sweet when I stopped as asked for their picture.

These cereal mascots wanted to make sure that everyone was eating a balanced breakfast!

The crowd was so big to get pictures of these tetris blocks, that I just stuck around back instead of waiting.

All hail the Lady Sith! He lightsabers screwed together to make a double bladed one! So cool!

Finally, I bumped into these guys on my way home and was super excited! C-3PO asked me if I even knew who they were... ME? are you kidding? They seemed pretty impressed when I listed them all off. Come on now, I'm not just another pretty face!

I may be a frog, but the Force is strong with this Muppet!
